  • c4 WE cannot see whole circuits easily because basic principles we got wrong years ago with Voltaire who, after all, was using only primitive methods and techniques of understanding of the time.

    So when the voltaic pile increased in size Voltaire could not understand that the disorder(Resistance) in the battery increased and this was shown as an increase in conductance in the meter in series. But he merely supposed the meter needle swung because flow increased, but electrons got fewer per CSA.
