After almost three years of work, finally started up my CB350 today (4/17/10). The last time this bike was started was in 1974. This has been a ground up project with every part being either replaced, repaired, upgraded, fabricated or restored. Still have to finish off the battery tray/electrics area and put the seat on.

I made my own custom megaphone mufflers as you see in the video. They weren't completely finished though at that stage. About a week later after I shot that video a couple years ago I fabbed my own baffles and put some fiberglass packing in there. It is MUCH quieter now and the back pressure is perfect.

  • Sorry for taking so long to reply, I forgot to check back on this vid! haha. Thanks for the kind words! Much appreciated! The tank WAS a pretty penny, it's hand made from aluminum from a guy in Germany. The front brake is from a 1972 Suzuki GT750, it's a hard brake to find, because they only made it in 72 and went to discs in 73.

The exhaust is super loud because there is no baffles at all. Just straight pipe. I made the mufflers myself. Since it's a megaphone, it actually amplifies the sound!

  • @rippkurlzable no backpressure makes the engine really peaky and slow though... just a tip... put something in there to create a bit of backpressure. and possibly keep your hearing...

  • @markslidesquad I took the baffles out of my mufflers for a while... and its actually louder than just the headers or a straight pipe alone. your exactly right. sounds mean though....

  • That is the sweetest sounding CB350 I have ever heard! Bad-A!

  • hey man who made that tank...and those sweet stacks too?

  • awesome bike.......I had one built yrs ago very similar....although mine was a bit muffled with slightly curved pipes :

that tank costs a chunk !......what did you use for battery?....any recharging issues?

  • nice looking bike....
