you should have told us this in the last video!!! I did like 5 rows with the ripples assuming it would go away later and now I have to do those over!

@riversrightfoot My US half-double is yarn-over, pull up a loop, yarn-over and pull through all three loops. =)

Meme, I'm wondering the same thing. I yarn-over first for my double crochets as well, and pull through two loops each time. =) But, I'm now curious to try the stitch she's doing, whatever you call it!

mine rippled way before hers but i am using a smaller hook and thinner yarn.....

You crochet hand position is just like mine xD...

@meme7492 you're doing it right, the video is wrong.

how do you keep the spiral from buckling

What in world! That is not a double crochet stitch. You are suppose to yarn over before putting the needle through the stitch. then yarn over again pull through one loop YO pull through both loops on hook.

i think different areas (such as europe) call what the US calls a half-double crochet a double crochet. they also call a double crochet a tripple crochet.
Iam a little slow!Don't you think you should add 1,2,3,to your segments so people like me can follow a little easier. you make really nice hat.

i have a question..
when you double crochet.. is it okay to yarn over first? cause thats what i do.. or am i doing a totally different stitch?
This is my so-called double crochet process:
i yarn-over go into the "hole" yarn over again pull through an i have two stitches, yarn over and pull through two stitches, and then yarn over again and pull through the last two stitches..
Thanks and great videos ;)
