Kogan playing Brahms´s Hungarian Dance no17. I think the arr. is from Kreisler, but I am not sure. I love these pieces, an excelent work done by Brahms garrisonnig these popular and gipsy themes and bringinnig to the classical repertoire. Similar to what Bela Bartok done with Romenian dances and Villa Lobos with the 'Suite Popular Brasileira' for guitar, in Brazil (!).

  • beautifully played!

  • vein tocado

    well played

  • o zuado é o arco dele em tranversal...mas toca muuito

  • Kogan and Gitlis are my two favorite violinists I like to watch as they play. What drama! These guys ooze testosterone while making incredible recordings. I should look so good when I do it, but I don't. Kogan was highly underrated because of his passive public nature.

  • You guys should hear him playing Lalot's Spanish symphony, or Brahms Violin concert!

Many brilliant performers of the 20th c. come from Russia, and I won't uselessly argue he's the best, but if there's one thing he's got, it's Drive (in the rock sense). so sorry for those who care about his face.

  • That solid tone he produces is so awesome.

  • can't beat Kogan's ending

  • anyone who likes this piece should listen to Szeryng (also on youtube)... More beautiful sound cause he doesn't press...

  • I think he was referring to the fact that Leonid Kohan was Russian.

  • magnifico!
