  • True that. I just use it out of habit since I liked the speed boost. Now I'm used to it. Plus, I got used to playing by aiming my dash near opponents, which is better when attacking rather than an anticipated direct approach IMO.

And Omni doesn't raise the Assist? I thought it did...

  • @NitroxDragon

It doesn't, sadly. Also, Free Air Dash (for some reason) cancels out Snooze and Lose. OAD doesn't do that either.

So both have their perks now.

  • Personally, I find Dark Flame easy to dodge because I use Omni Air Dash instead of Free Air Dash. I just air dash left or right. But it's up to whoever you're facing, I guess.

  • @NitroxDragon

Yeah. Some people prefer Free Air Dash now because of that move that boosts your assist gauge with it. And now that OAD doesn't have that insane speed anymore...yeah. So really you'll find people using either or more often now.

I was using Free Air Dash myself for the longest, but I think OAD has grown on me again. Curving those dashes is pretty sexy.

  • Oh, no, I realize how awesome Paladin Force is. I used it in the first Dissidia and then used the combo in this game and it's even better in 012.

So, if you have Paladin Force, which equals range, a triple Shadowbringer seems to be possible. As Dark Flame isn't the best ranged HP attack... (yay for thinking out loud)

  • @NitroxDragon

Yeah..Dark Flame is risky, but I'd still miss it. =( It's great to put pressure on people who are on the other side of a wall, or above you. I find it's somewhat difficult to avoid if it's coming upwards toward you..though really Cecil lacks ways to even set that scenario up. So..yeah.

Dark Flame would be missed, but it wouldn't be the end of the world I guess.

  • Personally, I use Omni Air Dash + all the time so it's easy to avoid such attacks, as opposed to someone who uses Free Air Dash, which locks on to the opponent only.

  • @NitroxDragon

While triple Luminous Shard is doable, I wouldn't dream of getting rid of Paladin Force as it's easily one of the best HP attacks in Cecil's arsenal since he can hit from literally -anywhere- with Searchlight. Just use Searchlight, then immediately use Paladin Force and he zips clear across the entire length of a stage to swoop in on his target. It's pretty insane-- plus it's great for assist combos.

Also Soul Eater and Shadowbringer have the exact same power, believe it or not.

  • Interesting... Well, couldn't you just do a triple Luminous Shard and then use Soul Eater as a replacement for Shadowbringer to maintain Dark Flame? Since SE and Shadow are essentially the same attack... one's just stronger, right? And slightly quicker.
