I saw this report from Hugh Riminton on CNN when he was reporting from China Sichuan Province after the Sichuan earthquake back in may 2008 and decided it was worth recording and keeping in my archive in its full length, amongst others. He really did a great job covering the situation there.
Oh, I read on CuteOverload in the comments that doctor was from Hong Kong and that he would take care of the cat. In HK, cats are pets. In some places of Mainland China they do in fact eat cat (and dog and chicken and other kinds of meat--including things Westerners eat).
The earthquake is such a tragedy that it's inspiring, and heartwarming, to see this little survivor.
where is the kitty??????

- Oye not quite, Cat's can swim, they just don't enjoy it (as witnessed by the kitten's rather pissed-off sounding mews)

It was cute because it was small and tiny, had an adorable meow, and it was heartwarming to see it make it to safety. =) That's what!
