"Without you I would never rise again": this is exactly what the Isetta means to BMW. Back in 1952 BMW developed the 501/502, which was lauded for it's elegance. But this car was a too expensive for most people, it brought BMW to the brink of bankruptcy.
In 1954 it had to license the Isetta design from Italian car and motorbike company Iso Rivolta. The 'bubble car' was a huge success for BMW and bought it time to develop it other cars like the 700 and 1500.

I own many isettas and just love this homage to one of the most fun cars EVER to drive!

In what way is it stupid or dumb? It's quirky, well made and visually stunning.

The Isetta was originally designed and made by Italian company ISO, then BMW took out a licence and made improvements. No dis-respect to BMW, but credit where it's due!
