One of my favourite segments from Fantasia, and it has a special childhood meaning for me. In music theory class, the girls all wanted to see the Pastoral Symphony, while me and the other boys wanted to see the Rite of Spring. This is a powerful segment in its own right, beautiful and visceral. Also nice to see a down-to-earth representation of dinosaurs in a cartoon, and back in the conservative 40s at that!

When the land is shifting around it sounded like some kind of machine and I thought that was what it was. I thought a giant machine was coming out of the ground. But give me a break, I was little.

5:00 most scariest Scene of disney ever made, ever. Maybe only secunded by night at the bald mountain, of Fantasia too.
Damn, the old times when disney wasn't 100% correct and polite, but surely was 100% awesome (I started interesting by dinosaurs the day I saw this scene, when I was 8 or so).
Fuck you, hannah montana.

That t-rex was the scariest thing of this movie for me. I used to cover my eyes when he appeared on screen

It's hard for me to pick a favorite Fantasia sequence, but this one is definitely up there. I wanted to be a paleontologist as a child, and this part always encouraged me and helped me keep that excitement. That dream has, even so, fallen by the wayside, but I still love dinosaurs and this bit of animation will always be special to me. Thanks for the upload.
