Steam bending wood for a skin-on-frame kayak with Duane Strosaker, and his assistant, Ken Fry. Flat grain red oak with minimal grain run-out was chosen from Lowes, and only $45 was spent on it, which turned out to be enough to bend for two kayaks. Only one rib had to be replace, and a second was replaced to make it perfect.
