The great Freddie King playing "I loved the woman" at the Black Prince, Bexley, with Killing Floor, June 1st 1969. The band backed Freddie on two UK tours in the 1960s, including dates with Howlin' Wolf and Otis Spann. All the photos shown here are from those two tours, and show the line-ups, which fluctuated slightly but included Mick Clarke, Bill Thorndycraft, Stuart (Mac) McDonald, Paul Turner, Bazz Smith and Lou Martin. Freddie's band for that night consisted of Mick, Bazz and Mac.

  • You gotta release this whole concert on CD - it must be made available to all bluesfans as it's a historic recording!

  • Just to let you know I was browsing on the web a few weeks ago and found the great article you wrote about your time playing with Freddie. I have to say it is on my desk top and I read it over and over so many times. I loved how when he first came over and took you to get a Wimpy, then the next day you went to the pictures. I love Freddie so much, there just isn't enough information out there about him. I would kill for a Biography about his life. Awesome recording!

  • Freddie is the BEST!!!
