What a total waste of time unless you have 6 grand to throw away then this is the course for you. These companies pray on vunerable people in times of recession and promise you the earth. As i've found to my cost. all i would suggest if you still want to go ahead with this is first ring up about 20 local companies in your area and see if they are looking for domestic electricians and when they have stopped laughing at you , then you can decide is this the job course for. Alternatively do a nationwide job search and see how many domestic electrician jobs there are. I'm posting this as i dont want anyone else to make the same mistake i did.

  • Are they claiming you can be a qualified electrician in a year, or am I getting the wrong end of the stick?

  • @Lloydy0105 yes they are but they are very ambiguos with the wording to the untrained eye its great but to someone whos in the know and already qualified can see that its all BS!

  • So did you qualify as an electrican? Was the whole course crap? Are there not any electrician jobs out there? Can you not work for yourself?

  • @joey8802 yeah i did qualify but still can't get a job employers just laugh at you when you tell them you have a domestic installer qualification. having completed a course like this as you only just tip the ice berg when comes to all things electricial so i would wnat to work for myself . But what really pisses me off more than anything is that Met UK are still spouting on that thier are loads of employers looking for skills like this when its simply not true as i've found to my cost

  • @kontakt1000 They are probably laughing at you because your not fully qualified, you need to have done a level 2 and 3 in electrical installation. Also you need to have had an apprentership and an NVQ in it. Then finally you have 4 separate exams which can be taken at any time of your life after you have successfully done all of this. Then you are fully qualified :L :)

  • @Lloydy0105 How old are you Lloydy? Im enrolling at college to start my level 2 in September and im 31. Is this too old to be getting into this career? I just dont want to waste 4 years if at the end of it i cant get any work

  • @kontakt1000 Then in that case I can back you up in what you're saying. I've been in college nearly four years now.. I have NVQ Level 2, C&G 2330 Level 2 and Im currently working towards my C&G Lever 3 2330. Aswell as this I have a qualifcation in the 17th Edition Wiring Regs and Im workin towards my 2392.. All this in 4 years and Im still not qualified! So how they can say they are making someone a qualified electrician in one year is beggers belief! PLUS chances of getting a job are VERY slim!

  • @darkshadow414 its not even close
