Ubuntu Jaunty and Vista Bootup speed test race. Both laptops are identical Except processor in Vista machine it Intel C2D 7250 whereas Ubuntu is C2D 7100.

actually you can do what he did it's in gdm settings tick login automatically on first bootup and enter yr username...

valvetrailers, you can set it up however you want it to boot up. You CAN have it boot right into the desktop. You should know what you're talking about before posting a comment. I've been using Ubuntu for about 10 months now and would NEVER go back to MS!!!
