Less CO2 in the atmosphere would be better, but the issue is not simply about how much CO2 bio or fossil fuels release, it's about where that carbon came from.
Biofuel is made from carbon taken from the atmosphere & stored by plants.
That carbon was already *in* the atmosphere, before the plant stored it.
When you extract & burn fossil fuels you're releasing extra carbon that had been trapped safely away underground for millions of years, so are increasing the total carbon in the atmosphere.

The fact that climate change is already happening is no excuse to make it worse & do nothing about making it better. If you worry about farming destroying ecosystems then boycott all products with soya in them.
Growing fuel increases food prices when it means there are less farmers to grow food. Less food being grown pushes food prices up.
Using cooking oil to run engines after it's been cooked with won't increase food prices. It can even reduce demand on farmers to grow fuel instead of food.

Look Climate change is happening. Whether we like it or not. It is a natural process and it has happened before ( which we've got through) and it will happen again ( which we'll get through again). Biofuels cause more CO2 than fossil fuels, they've destroyed millions of acres of ecosystems, increased food prices and let millions more to starve. AGW is another psuedo-religions cooked up by the sad leftist looney tunes who are just looking for an excuse tyo run down the west and capitalism.

it's good to hear of real innovation happening here in the UK
I followed a Stagecoach bus with an advert on the back encouraging people to use the bus and save the planet..
The huge bus struggled through narrow, busy streets causing chaos before it eventually stopped beside another EMPTY bus.
Even with free subsidised travel for the over 60's nobody uses the dirty gas guzzlers.
Get them off the road unless they can pay their own way.

@BillDFC Interesting! Bus and train travel is booming in the recession.
