Apple iMac - Tearing problem with external screen

Hey guys,

a few days ago I bought myself a brand new iMac 2011 21.5 inches. Then I decided to use my tv as a 2nd screen for movies etc. After I plugged in the hdmi connection, I realized that there were horizontal scan lines (tearing) on my primary iMac screen. You can see them in games or any other application. Even with safari/firefox etc., like in this video. So I removed the hdmi connection - and the scan lines have gone. YAY!

I still don't know, what causes this problem, but I hope it will be fixed by Apple soon. :/

I am having the exact same problem, it even does it with different adapters. Did you ever get it fixed or find the issue?

Explain to them that you're getting screen tearing... You could even point them to this video for proof. It's gotta be video card issues or driver.
