  • this is one of the most beautiful, yet somewhat sad and nostalgic songs. Willie portrays these emotions wonderfully in his verson of September Song.. Even as a youthful 71 year old, I realize that most of my life has been lived, and that I am probably past September, maybe not quite to November, yet we must go on until we are called to even a better place. Bittersweet, but it is our destiny.

  • Can't help but think of my son who died at the World Trade Center on 9/11, FDNY, Engine 214, Michael E Roberts. we had ten precious days that month!

Greetings dear captainrhett. thank you for your note and yes i agree, it might be nice to catch up a little with family especially when they have the most beautiful name in the world, Michael! I had not kept in touch with my father's side of the family but so many of them reached out to me on and after 9/11 and we have very close and supportive relationships on line and on facebook. go for it! Sincerely FFMichaelRobertsMom, Veronica Fox-Roberts

  • @FFMichaelRobertsMom , My Dear Lady, by coincidence I have a nephew named Michael, also a Fire Fighter. I haven't been in contact with that part of my family in many years, and your note has made me think, it's about time for me to re-establish contact. I'm 77 years old, and there isn't many of us left. You have my deepest sympathy for your loss, Your son was a true American hero. - Olin J. Roberts, aka CaptRhett. Formerly from Charleston, SC.
