The best thing you can do is to raise awareness. Talk to your friends and the people around you. Don't let the news of people getting killed on the streets for wanting basic human rights get drowned in stories about Rihanna and Paris Hilton.

Also be an empowered citizen. Demand your governments not to recognize Ahmadinejad as Iran's president. Ask Obama not to open a dialogue with them. The people of Iran have spoken loud and clear. The world knows this gov is not their representative.

Please note that it was never "they" (i.e. the people) who burned the American flag. It was the basijis, the same people who are beating and killing the Iranians on the streets now. The majority of the Iranian people were never enemies of the US. That is one of the many reasons they are fighting now. They are tired of the fascist government tarnishing their country's image in the world and finally would have none of it.
