@RedDodge1968 Well said. I suppose there's two sides to a coin - the current throwaways let new tech deploy very rapidly. It would be difficult to retrofit, say, satellite radio to your Zenith without buying 90% of a new product. On the bad side, it also supplies a constant stream of waste and an apathetic mentality towards effecting repairs. Fortunately, this mentality provides many free "broken" (but fixable for cheap) items to people like us who understand repairs :)

Beautiful cabinet!! I have a floor model that looks almost the same. My dad bought it new. I am long over due getting mine restored. Zenith are very good at receiving distant stations.

I'm a child of the '90s, but I gotta say I much prefer this over a modern audio setup. It's just so classy. It looks like people cared a lot more about their products back then.

@spagamoto Back then you bought electronics made right here in the US, with US parts and materials, they were truly a work of art, designed to be a focal point of any room, built with pride, and to stand the test of time. Products were designed to be repairable in the event of failure, not to be thrown away for something new.
