  • Kyllä se on perkele nin että Suomi hoitaa ja puolustaa omat rajat!!

  • Well, our children are proud of something else than having SS label!! when our your guys go to a cemetery on Xmas times and see the years & dates when their ancetors died!!! There is no doubt!!! ..... And when you walk over the cemettary, you see a lot of history!!! and then to "TrashIt86" ... Germans were handicapped in the forests!! Too dark, wet, etc ;-)))

  • @grangegoarman They were not per say defending Finland but the world from communism. We are teached neither. It is just a fact that it did happen, nothing to be proud or ashamed of. We are however proud of all those who fought under the finnish flag defending finland from the Soviet threat, even those swedish men who came to finland as volunteers and who fought at Hanko before being mostly dismissed and returned to sweden.

  • @TrashIt86 I understand that. I was just wondering if the children of today are taught to be proud of these men fighting under the SS name (I would be because they defended their country) or if they try to distance themselves from the SS association because everything to do with Germany gets unfairly demonized. For example, in Ireland regarding the British - the Irish who fough in both world wars get no recognition for their efforts because they fought under a British flag.

  • @kpasi70 I don't think you are Nazis. I am Irish. Ireland's war dead from WWI have been completely erased from our history because they fought under a British flag while under their occupation. I just wanted to know what Finnish children are taught today. You should be proud of your country's efforts against the Soviets. I was wondering if a certain political element would like to distance themselves from the SS association. That's all.

  • @grangegoarman Finland as a country was not involved in the SS, individuals with finnish citizenship was. These were volunteers who wanted to fight the Soviet threat with the germans. There were also Swedish, Norweigan, Danish, Dutch, French (and so on) SS soldiers fighting side by side with the finnish. These countries are just as non involved with the SS. And as said before, SS being babykillers ans such is a lie. Parts of the SS organisation was however. The SD did security for the rear.

  • @kpasi70 I was talking about the war of 1941-44. Sry if that wasnt clear. The winter war was purly a Soviet war of aggression without cause. Even a far fetched cause. Im from sweden and live in Finland

  • Well, this SS shit is out

  • @kpasi70 ... continue.... Well, German troops were incompetent to operate in the dark, cold Finnish-Russian forest! They were not used it! Fortunately we had men who were able to operate there! There are not so many left!!

  • @TrashIt86 Well I do not know what kind of a history your have read. Soviet attacked Finland -39 and it is called winter war. There were no germans in the frontier! Later on when Soviet had hostile actions against Finland, there were Germans on the Finnish soil. I do not know where you from but I remember that when my father told that there were a lot of transports from US to Finland during the 2nd world war.... not only waepons, but toys for children etc! And one thing... ... continue
