Alabama closes door on colorful 2010 primary ads
It's finally here: Alabama's primary, which has produced some of the most memorable ads of the 2010 election season. Among Tuesday's races: several tight U.S. House primaries and two gubernatorial primaries, as incumbent Republican Bob Riley is term-limited. Important as these primaries are, the 2010 election cycle in Alabama will probably be remembered chiefly for its colorful primary ads.
In the wake of Arizona's controversial immigration law, James, a Republican gubernatorial hopeful, made waves with an ad saying it was not in the public's interest for Alabama to license drivers who can't speak English. "This is Alabama," he said. "We speak English." He later defended the ad, insisting a multilingual driver's test is "political correctness gone amok."

im asian who has lived in america my whole life.. my whole family got citizenship, learned the language and prospered.. to be an american citizen and wanna live here you have to not be lazy and learn the language.. i do get tired of people who live here for many years and dont even attempt to learn the language..

Take a look at how many car wrecks are brought about by foreigners. They make us learn a language in school as a requirement, so I think a few people can learn english in Alabama to make it safer.
