Well done Rodger, both are beautiful models. i noticed the big goveners on the 51's, are they just for show or do they work?

Yes, the governors DO work. As the engine speed increases it causes the governor to speed up as well since it is tethered by a spring belt...the governor's spring loaded arms/balls rise giving some resistance, As the governor arms rise they lift a lever riding in a groove and subsequently that lever gradually closes off a steam valve within the steam chest. By this method it self controls top speed to avoid exceeding designed in rpms...it works very well and is totally adjustable.
