Scott Boras is a great guy. He really does care about and look out for the kids that sign with him. So what if he gets them big contracts? That's his job. I'm guessing Scioscia hardly knows Nick because he was just getting started in the major league. Boras was really emotional because he has been advising Nick since he came out of high school.
