  • This was the first time that I've ever baked a cake that wasn't from the box, and these cupcakes were SO GOOD! I made it for my boyfriend's birthday and he LOVED it! I made one substitution though, I made them with all purpose gluten free flour because I have Celiac Disease and they were still SO good! These tasted just like red velvet cupcakes from Sprinkles! Thanks so much! And the icing I used was the cream cheese icing from the Philadelphia cream cheese website! Thanks again! :)

  • @lifeline86 try replace it with 240ml fresh milk and 1 tsp vinegar

  • I've been looking everywhere for buttermilk, and couldnt find it.. Does it have another name ? Or can I replace it with something else ?! =S

  • No sorry I've tried every recipe on youtube and food network for red velvet and they are all similar but none come out like a great cupcake store that I go to in nyc called sprinkles...nothing even comes close. I wish I can figure out what they put in those cupcakes at sprinkles.
