wow i hope no one thought that i was under the impression that he was playing the violin in this clip. i used to play the violin so i would know that violins are not that big. obviously it's a double bass ^_^ just kidding. once again, a stunning performance by the master!
It's more that you respond in multiple-section posts to everything thrown your way than that you use "big words". You could've easily summed up everything you just said in two or three sentences. Brevity is a more valuable skill for a writer than a large vocabulary, as much as the latter may impress people on the internet.
Only within the narrow confines of these little boxes -and among interlocutors unaccustomed to reading books thicker than their thumbs- could I be accused of prolixity.
In France, it's common practice for kids to wait until 16-18 to choose an instrument—they have a very structured music education system that puts theory and voice education before learning an instrument, and yet the Paris conservatory produces some damned fine musicians.
It's not IMPOSSIBLE to learn as an adult, it's just that capacity for myelination slows down considerably after adolescence.
I wonder if you saw the post in which I said I've taken up the piano (or more accurately, a tacky $300 Yamaha keyboard). I seem to have made a fair amount of progress in only a few months.
