Good video. People will always have something to say that will attempt to disrupt help to those that desperately need it. There is real racism in the world and when a person denies the holocaust we call that racism so why would people deny truth?

I got back from the DR a couple of months ago and yes there are beautiful places that don't look like this. Those places are for the tourists. much of the DR is poor and people are struggling for clean water and food. It is not just a Haitian issue. I saw Dominicans and Haitians going through the same thing. If anyone says different they are lying. This is real and this video shows the same type things that I saw outside of Santo Domingo, nowhere close to the border.

Believe or not, there are many places in the US much worse, some areas in NY, Harrisburg, PA, except that every night id the fourth of july and the celebrat with real shots and real people die.

Please do not judge a whole country based on a 2 min. video. Do you know that DR is a subdeveloped country? Do you know that many dominican live like this as well? you will find these same scenes in Brazil, cambodia, most latin American country, India. etc. If the reason for this is racism then why the same thing happen in white rural area s un the US and urban guettos? DR and Haiti have a History. Our historiam tell un that they trid to enslaved us.

The video of course does not represent life overall for the entire country. It is specifically showcasing what was experienced on an exposure trip to the impoverished bateyes.

This video footage was shot in the Dominican Republic on a few bateyes. It is for a charity that provides education to those impoverished Dominicans and Haitians on the bateyes.

Not for nothing... but where is this in DR? I mean I have never seen so many Haitians like that O_O and I have family members who live in barrios... but even then... you only see a few here and there but not so many... the only time where I saw so many Haitians altogether... was when I went to the border... there were lots of Haitians selling stuff and whatnot. Anyway, I don't really think this video depicts life in the Dominican Republic very well... =\

This particular video was filmed on the bateyes of the Dominican Republic. There are many Haitian sugar-cane (and former) workers and families.
