@Mr1921TSMG I heard Peter Noone on a "Beatles lunch break Radio" interview years ago confirm that fact. He stressed that it was THAT Jimmy Page who played on the this record. Jimmy did alot of session work back in the day. The Hermits could all play well, but it was common practice (especially in the days when 45s were King)for record labels to hire session musicians to get the job done faster. Time=$.

i can't help thinking that the depth of emotion and pain REALLY does not get conveyed at all in herman's hermits' version of this song. The Rays' version and Frankie Lymon's had SO much 'feel' in it! Am I the only one who finds the Herman's Hermits' version really disappointing??

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that Jimmy Page actually played the lead guitar on this song in the recording session.
