MIchael Coren Show Discusses Toronto Tamil Protests -1

It's absolutely enlightening to see more and more regular Canadians slowly but surely figuring out the real reason why the Tamil Diaspora is actually protesting. On blogs, news paper and web site feedbacks, we Sri Lankans have had to take a back seat as the Canadians are taking it to the Terrorist flag waving Tiger sympathizers. This is a good example of their disbelief of Canadian authorities lack of action on these illegal protests.

well sir you have not seen all. Many Tamils live in Colombo and are influential. 54% tamils live in colombo. Purposefully we dont discriminate Tamils BUT I admit any minority anywhere in the world will feel some discrimination which I as a majority wont feel. Dont forget Tamil is an official language in SL but not in India the home to 55 million tamils!

point is mate that this was a war that had nothing to do at all with Canada! No Canadian would like their lives disrupted on an issue which had no relevance at all with Canada. Also, Canada has never meddled in the affairs of other countries too!

opportunities that I would never have received being a Tamil in Sri Lanka. It might be the country of my birth, but it will never be home. Sadly, I believe that the populace of Sri Lanka (or those that spent a majority of the lives there) is largely uneducated (relative to the west) and cannot see past differences of language/religion. I'm a Tamil. That being said, Michael Coren does have a very valid point; protesting the war and conflict peaceably is one thing, but blocking a highway to get a message across is another. Not sure how these fools thought it'd win the general populace's sympathies. It portrayed a very negative image on the community; shame on them.
