Yup, you can totally adjust the audio with the free software from kenwood to make it sound any way you like on Tx and Rx. It is a fantastic tranciever for the money.

For the person on the radio saying the TS-590 does not have much in the way of audio customisation. If he downloads the free radio control software from the Kenwood site - he will get an 18 band equaliser on TX and a separate 18 band equaliser on RX. You can program these settings into the radio and it will save them so you get plenty of control over the receive and transmit audio with the TS-590. Regards, Craig VK3CRG
