INDIAN SUMMER was a little known one-shot British prog rock band that released this self-entitled album and disappeared. The album was originally released on RCA's Neon subdivision, the same label that brought us acts like SPRING, Mike WESTBROOK, RAW MATERIAL, The RUNNING MAN, and TOUTON MACOUTE. INDIAN SUMMER's music is typical early '70s prog rock dominated by Hammond organ with some Mellotron. The opening song, "God is the Dog" is obviously the band's protest against religion, and despite that, it's actually one of the better songs on the album.

Studio Album, released in 1971

  • Nice to come across this . Well done for putting on. I am Paul Hooper, drummer with Indian Summer. Takes me right back. True RCA Neon had no idea how to market us. They announced that the label was aimed at the student population, so naturally they stayed away in their droves. 1971 and prog rock ruled. Great that some people out there still appreciate this stuff. God is indeed the dog.

  • Funny how God let the devil twist music, since God is supposed to be all powerful. So I've come to two conclusions, either God doesn't exist or he was a proghead!

  • @drumhooper Thank you,you inspired me so much.

  • haha this is gay and emo

  • @madspenda Another non-intelligent human... And everyone is wondering why our society has become so sad and repulsive.

  • Indian Summer played Blue coat school in the late 60's / early 70's when I was 15 and turned me into a long haired alcho freak !

  • @littlespringer I came here looking for the exact same band! Can you tell me if you manage to find them?

  • Um dia o Marco Paulo chegou pela 1ª vez aos Estados Unidos e disse:

    "O my dog" - é veridico!

  • @SoulAtZero88 No, God gave us free will, he won't stop us from doing anything.

  • @drumhooper Indian Summer I did not know until now but I recently bought a brand new 180-gram vinyl record and it's among my favorites. A mix of Deep Purple to Uriah Heep with Greenslade, Indian Summer smashes.
