I'm French lover of Nicolas de Grigny. The performance is perfectly right and though it is played in England and by an English organist, It is very near from French Baroque Style of 17th Century ! ... ;-) ... Beautifull performance, indeed !

Another superb rendition by Ian Ball. And agree totally with 32', the genius of Ralph Downes shines through here - this must be the only English cathedral organ that can emulate the sound of the 18th Century French classical organ. Recent additions to emphasise the 'Frenchness' of this organ include a Cornet Separe on the Pedal (Quint 10/ 2/3, Tierce 6 2/3, Septieme 4 4/7, all modelled on those found at Notre Dame de Paris), and July of 2010 a new Trompette Harmonique on the Great.

About the only English Cathedral organ that sounds classical because it was designed that way by Downes. Pray to god they NEVER change it otherwise it will be ruined.
