@IFlick I'm assuming you're one of those people who believes the law is just in its decisions just because it's the law. Not too long ago, it was illegal for a black man to sit in the front seat of a bus. Would you be defending that? And Texas is on the border of Mexico. It's a hot-spot for illegal trafficking of drugs much more potent, and including, marijuana. For this reason, their tolerance level tends to be very low. They don't want to be the ones responsible for letting people through.

if all the cars ran on hemp, everyone would get stoned out of their mind just from being near the car. Stoned driving deaths will explode.

....hemp car "debuts' as if its new...well it is...but its been done before...and then prohibited for some reason
Your right hemp can produce around 27 thousand products, anywhere from food to explosives,so hemp would replace most (if not all) things we have in this world today..This plant is a BIG threat to all companies so that's one big reason why it's illegal....

Henry Ford was driving one of these in 1920. Make no mistake about it, it was the OIL COMPANIES that made hemp illegal, not a bunch of pot-smoking hippies.
