A clip from the real Hellsing anime which follows the bloody manga better than the Adult Swim incarnation. My manga reading went up to the part when that bleeding Nazi war junkie...oh wait I can't reveal too much or Hellsing might kill me.
Seras Victoria was given a choice when The Hellsing Organization's best weapon (a vampire named Alucard) had to shoot through her to beat a deadbeat vampire wrecking havoc in countryside England. She made the choice to become a vampire since she fulfiled the requirement of being an opposing gender and a virgin. Plus she didn't really want to die.
She wasn't really jolly about being a vampire, but since she made the decision, she sticks by the Hellsing group to battle the vampires and ghouls that go bump in the night. She might as well, since going full vampire is as cool as going Noir, and no amount of therapy can surpress such a bloody craving! But you will need a lot of bleach for cleaning up your cravings....
