Berlin is a city famous for its all-night dance clubs, artists and cheap property, but the city is changing.

The German capital once described by its mayor as "poor but sexy" is not as poor as it used to be, and it could be losing some of its edge.

Al Jazeera's Nick Spicer reports from Berlin.

  • @lovetohate028 no, it's just the shit's more stinking when it's moving =DDDDD

  • Berlin never sleeps, it always moves and never rests. Thats why the nightlife is so colofur. The ADS (Maria) and the Yaam are just two examples of famous clubs that get pushed out of the city because of the raising rents in the center and the east part. That will kill Berlins multicultural development, Berlins DJ's are famous over the world! :D Thanks to AlJazeera for informing.

  • LOL angry birds techno :D

  • @DowJones19 I said it not because of nationality, but because they'll perceive themselves as "different". If the studies that say that in-group, out-group way of thinking can lead to conflicts are right, then the mere fact of bringing a "lot" of people can be a formula for disaster.

  • @AkaiTsukiShimitsu I think the problem wouldn't be mass migration, but naturalizing these migrants and labeling them German. That's the problem because once they are "German" they can almost never be deported. I really don't get why Germany and other European countries just bring in foreigners as foreign workers only (like the rest of the world), and not people who must eventually receive a citizenship.

  • @lovetohate028 Apart of the NPD aren't ya?

  • I think it wouldn't be wrong for foreigners to visit... but to stay?

Massive migration could only cause troubles ._.

  • @lumberj23

It's far more likely for a foreigner to be beaten in the east.

Despite all the stories, statistics, ridiculous laws, obvious evidence, and the chancellor herself warning everyone, nobody wants to believe that Germany isn't multikulti heaven.

  • @lovetohate028

Yeah. Everything is the fault of someone else. Typical response. Here's an idea. Stop shutting out the migrants.
