  • think i'll make something like this for my wife after i take out an insurance policy on her!

  • That is probably all of the fuel the thing has though.

The biggest problem with "jet packs", besides the fact that they are very unstable, is that they have very little fuel.

  • @Abcdef1797 Well antimatter wouldn't be any better for propulsion than matter and it's nigh-on impossible to focus the energy of annihilation into any useful purpose. The best way to go would be to use a thermodynamic thruster and just power it with a large battery in the pack.

  • @smatteringofapplause I know. I wasn't being sarcastic. :) I've seen other jet packs. I've seen one in real life as well. A problem with jetpacks is range. You can't really go very far because there's very less space to carry fuel and due to the limited amt of propulsion, the weight of the fuel also becomes a problem. If we did have anti-matter. Which we know can be created in labs. All we need is a way to contain it and use it. If that happens, one could use a jetpack regularly for travel. :)

  • @Abcdef1797 We already do, actually. It's not a power source, just a scientific milestone.

  • @dos195: Actually that jet pack lasts 30 seconds and he was only going for 17 seconds. he would of had 13 seconds left.

JM: I counted 21 seconds just now on the Youtube video player. I was there in the crowd that day and I made a rough estimate of around 15 seconds also.....but it was actually 21 seconds according to the Youtube video player here. And the video doesn't show it, but the announcer kept asking him questions, and he finally ahd to tell the announcer that his fuel was boiling off

  • @inthefade well, in a few years we'll have antimatter so that'll change a lot of things!

  • lol Dick. heh

  • Well I hope so, because if they start making them less efficient they really won't have much of a purpose will they?

  • They'll probably make them more efficient as technology improves
