Emily Schaad performs "Grub Springs" to win First Place in the "Old Time Fiddle" category at the 83rd Johnson County Old Time Fiddlers Convention on 22 August 2008. One additional fiddle number is also performed to help close out the evening's activities. This convention started in 1925 at the old high school building at Church and College Streets in Mountain City. It has been held somewhere in Johnson County, Tennessee every year since. It may be the longest running "old time" fiddlers convention in the southern Appalachians. For the last 17 years it has been held at the "Old Mill Music Park" owned by the Warden family in Laurel Bloomery, Tennessee.

  • Great performance. BTW, her last name is spelled Schaad.

  • @acousticbill I'm going to blame the spelling issue on the local newspaper and I will fix it now.. Thanks for commenting.
