@ChristianoMoe Think you'll find that air pressure stopping the compressor turning whilst the exhaust gas is trying to drive the turbine is harmful to any turbo. High inlet pressure also causes engine damage (detonation etc). So i doubt you will find a turbo engine without an atmospheric/recirculating BOV (vents inlet air pressure and keeps the turbo spinning freely) and/or a waste gate (Vents exhaust gas to slow the turbine, in turn slowing the compressor and reducing inlet manifold pressure).
People... BlowOff valves are used on engine that use a map sensor for calculating air flow... DV(Diverter Valve) is used on vehicle with Mass Air Flow sensors. The differense is that if you blow off the air on MAF engine, It will give the ECM a false reading of extra air going into the angine making it run RICH.
MAP sensor calculates air after the DV/BO valve so it doesnt realy matter.
Audi VW cars with the 1.8T VAG engines dont like blow of valves, they need the air recirculated back into the engine. The forge splitter is a hybrid that is ok for these cars but a fully atmospheric one will fuck up the engine. and i do think this is compressor surging. mine did it too when i had the remap and the standard diverter valve. got the forge splitter now and no more surge. a nice hiss instead.
THAT SOUNDS SOOO GOOD, AND WHO DOESNT KNOW THAT FLUTTER SOUND IS ACTUALLY COMING FROM THE INTAKE FILTER, AFTER GAS IS RELEASED

@csstaticx i think he was a little confused on your wording. You make it sound like BOV's are used for measuring air.

this engine wont last long

Compressor surge is harmful to small turbos like the ko3 and k04. Bigger turbos doesn't get any damage to the turbo blades.
To those who think that surge is bad for all turbo-cars: You don't know shit.

is this is compressor surge or not?
i know surge is not good for the Turbo....
