Paul Soldner introduced American-style raku and changed the course of contemporary ceramics. This program traces the evolution of his work over 40 years from functional thrown stoneware to his non-functional raku sculptural forms and cast bronze pieces. We see over 50 examples of Soldner's work as well as segments of the artist in his studio revealing how he creates his monumental clay sculptures. Full video is 37 minutes.

  • These early pots are very nicely constructed. It is a pleasure to see and hear his comments. Are there more available?

Thank you for the comment. Currently, we do not have any more available. However, The American Ceramics Society produced a video titled "Paul Soldner Thoughts On Creativity" (1989, 28 min) which you might be able to search for.
