This is a demonstration of how to use a glazed surface as the underpainting for a watercolor painting. As glazes are added, the painting develops. All the washes (glazes) on the paper are very transparent so that the underlying colors glow through, thereby creating a very colorful piece. I think the glazed paper adds some excitement to the finished product. What artist is not afraid of a white piece of paper? Well, maybe some pros! I do not glaze with any subject in mind. This works well for floral paintings as well.
