The butterfly is made up of over 500 hand placed PhysX particle emitters attached to a skeletal mesh. Each emitter produces between 50 and 200 PhysX meshes every 1/2 second. That's around 40,000,000 PhysX meshes produced in this 4 minute video (plus 120,000 PhysX sprites in the map at any given time). Needless to say, this will run about 4-9 FPS live. Was going for something on the creative side this time. Enjoy. :)

Here's some cool HD Pictures from the video:

Sorry, haven't used UDK for quite a while, but if you hit F4 for properties of your emitter it should allow you to parent the emitter to a bone of your skeletal mesh.

Haha. Thanks for the comments. Most of my videos are renders and can be made on any computers, but I still try to push my computer and skills to the limits. I posted 4-9 FPS on this vid live and my computer is very good. :)

how did you render those frames for animation!? T_T i'm still a newbie in UDK. i can make one image in UDK but only when use the 'tiledshot' command. i'm looking for a UDK walkthrough animation tutorial manual but no site has one.
