now lemmy ask you. if i took a cassette, and recorded my own voice, and put it in teddy and played it. would he move his mouth to my voice? or would his mouth move and his eyes go crazy? 'cause i'm working on a project and if it doesn't move witht he tape then the entire project just went down the toilet

@Nuggetlover96 He'll just move at random, if he moves at all. You'd have to get the real signals on the right track of one of the tapes and edit them to make him move perfectly in sync.

@Nuggetlover96 You can make copies of TR tapes onto regular cassettes like in this video; they just won't work with the plastic tape player Teddies unless you cut a hole in the bottom for the sensor.

@blueoctopede Is it true that first generation Teddies can be damaged by playing normal audio cassettes? (ones without movement code on the right channel). I'd like to see how he reacts to a C64 data cassette, but not if it'll damage him :(

@blueoctopede, Indeed, the left channel of the tape is just codelanguage (just like most homecomputers in that decade worked with tape, like the Commodore 64) that tells the servo's what to do. However, if you manage to get it on the computer, and if you know how the code works you could manage to get your own voice or even songs.
