Sure you can be happy without Jesus, but I've learned that it comes at a cost. That said some people have no idea how liberating it is to not have the weight of sin lifted off of your shoulders. That's God working in your life.
Control/overlord- that's people doing that. It's rediculous, but they use religion to force their will when they shouldn't if they wish to remain objective in this supposed representative form of government we have.

Burkley- seems like all you care about it your opinion. There's no fact behind it. You are lumping people like Dubby and I in with people who are nothing like us at all.
Honesly, I don't see where you get the intolerence from in my case. You don't know me well enough to make that assumption. And you obviously missed the part where I said I have good friends who are gay and I've never judged them for their lifestyle. They know it's not my bag, but it stops there.

^^ If people can make themselves miserable without Jesus, can't they make themselves happy without Jesus?

Or is christianity the overlord that determines who may be happy and who may not? That's basically what I'm getting from your post.

Well thats still the message, isn't it? And yet again you validated it. And, as an atheist, I believe gays should love whomever they please.

Christians like yourself and the WBC just enjoy the control you have over others.

Also, its interesting to note the evolution of your argument. You are sounding more intolerant everytime you post. But that was my original assumption, and for me you have validated it.

WBC = mainstream Christianity

You are only half right. See if you recant your lifestyle, then you got nothing to worry about. I am good friends with a young man who by definition is gay. However, he chooses not to subscribe to the lifestyle despite his attraction to men because of his faith in Jesus Christ. It's a struggle for him, but his faith is a lot stronger than his desires because he knows that our God is enough for him. The WBC ignores God's grace for our sins, and they think EVERYONE is going to hell. John 3:16

So gays don't go to heaven. Isn't that the message of WBC?

Its funny, the more you comment the more you convince me that I'm right...

And winning that prize is pretty simple- but to steal a tired cliche- you can't win if you don't play:-P!
One more thought- God intended us to come together in fellowship, not create divisions amonst ourselves. The WBC are dividers. They hide behind the BIble to proliferate their ignorant hatelful message. When our city flooded last year they used it as an opportunity to spew hate. Meanwhile 37 churches banded together to save the city. They did nothing to help.

And besides, you can't let one small componant of Christianity (or any religion) sum up all of it's theology. If God intended us to go around hating homosexuals for their lifestyle, he'd a wrote it that way. Instead he tells us to love the sinner and show them the path to righteousness. Why? Because the punishment of sin is death , but your sins are buried with Christ if you accept him as your savior. Death meaning that when you die, you don't win the grand prize (eternity with God).

Actually it does differ from the WBC- we don't sit around all day and think of ways to make people like yourself miserable. This world has too many other problems- like starvation, illness, oppression, loss of loved ones- you name it. Making life hell for the gay community barely even makes the radar. Most of those types are conservative nitwits who crawled out of the same sewers that bred segregation in the early part of the 20th century. They hide behind Christianity to do it.
