  • Sheff said that he wanted to add more adult sexuality in indie songs... it won't lost the beauty just because it's a porn star

  • then i suppose all the beauty is gone, but you should realise, prostitutes, drug addicts, eating disordered, are beautiful. however pretentious and gay that sounds, it just shows how narrowminded you are.

    Your welcome.

  • @tumitama1 Thank you.

It's supposed to be from Shannon Wilsey's father's point of view. Will Sheff has written a couple songs about people who have committed suicide, such as," John Allyn Smith Sails"

  • I though this song was about his daughter

  • You're narrow-minded to use the word gay as a pejorative term.

  • all of you fuckers' input does not matter, because this song is AMAZING and we should leave it at that!

  • @7thappletree Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Like watch American Beauty or something. Beauty, it's the most freeform of views in our world. There is always something that somebody will find beautiful whilst another finds it repulsive

  • Yes this song is about a porn star, three of their songs are about Savannah the Adult Film Star. Red, Savannah Smiles and (Shannon Wilsey on the) Starry Stairs...

  • snillaz - EXACTLY. Same exact thing happened to me. I like it a lot more after finding out the meaning. I think I like Starry Stairs slightly, SLIGHTLY, better though.

  • Beauty is about uniqueness and writing about that stuff is unoriginal. My first impression of the song was the perspective of parents about the tragedy of seeing their chlidren grow and the passing of time; the sadness brought on by nostalgia and how at age 8 kids love their parents to death but in their 20s are very distant. That's a much more original idea and thus far more beautiful and sad
