This is the video of my flight over the Himalayas from Lhasa to Kathmandu. We got a chance at seeing Mount Everest as well.

The main reason why I chose Telstar was due to the fact that the song was about the satelite, Telstar in the 1960s making Britain able to see America for the first time on TV. This video is the first to show the Himalayas in their true colour and possibly the most magical and thought provoking flight one can do. Enjoy

  • I just read you went via Zhangmu, the hotel we stayed in was relatively basic to say the least!!!!! I have a video about it on my channel

  • Nice one. Ye got a better view of everest than we did. We flew Kathmandu - Lhasa, travelled to far western Tibet and eventually came back overland via Zangmu (ugh!).

  • However, even though you view of Everest was perhaps not as grand as you hoped, you did it properly by the looks of your videos. We stayed in hotels every night but you camped, that is something to be very proud of. I can't imagine how cold it must have been. Thanks for your comments

  • We went for the SagaDawa festival at mt. Kailash. We didn't get to do the kora around the mountain due to heavy snow. We got to visit amazing manastries and be present at the raising of the huge prayer pole in the valley below the sacred mountain. We had a Tibetan guide, driver and cook (!), and a Nepali sherpa for our trekking. It was the experience of a lifetime and we were glad we did it, though it was tough. cork-dublin-london-doha-kathmandu-lhasa, return via 3 weeks in Tibet. Amazing!

  • That sounds great, you obviously did it the very adventureous way, well done
