I made this video in response to the continued progression of the New World Order, "Chicago Boys", Neoliberal economic and social policies. Bruce Cockburn wrote about this in the early and mid-1980's. By the analysis of others such as Naomi Klein and Noam Chomsky, the ruling elites are amplifying their class warfare, as seen by Tea Party-style governors in Wisconsin and Ohio.

  • great vid, but just 1 question when are we gonna get off our lazy fuckin asses and do something about it?

WE HAVE THE POWER TO CHANGE IT, BUT WE NEED TO ORGANIZE OURSELVES!!!

  • @cantstoptheseeker You are correct. There IS a lot of organizing beginning to develop (e.g. the 'occupy' movements) all with related concerns.

  • DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE SHE IS TODAY?!? I wish I could have adopted the girl shown at 0:45. I assume she's a victim of the Serbo-Croatian War,where so many innocent civilians lost their lives. I also assume she's homeless(?)due to this conflict? DOES ANYONE KNOW WHERE SHE IS TODAY?!? The U.N. is a joke and Bill Clinton-- our stupid, redneck president (no capital "P")didn't know WTF to do in Foreign Policy or what influence the USA has in the U.N. So many innocents killed and displaced b/c of him.

  • @cpob1688 The girl at 0:45 is, I believe from Latin America. It was filmed in the 1980's during the Reagan/Bush I years. Could be the result of war or the 'structural adjustment policies' imposed by the IMF.

  • great video compilation showing what this song is all about... how our world functions from the beginning and on till our end ...

  • @eigenber Heart-wrenching, rage-making video. Great work. The concert was recorded live at the Barrymore Theater in Madison, WI, on May 3rd, 1997. I've seen Bruce solo, with a drummer and bassist (as in this recording), and a full band. If you have a chance to see him live, don't miss it.

  • @Sylvi3D Ok, thanks. I'll look into that.

  • @eigenber There's article about his visit that's still available online (won't let me post the link google Cockburn Afghanistan, it's a CBC article). He was visiting his brother who is a doctor over there. He does address the whole should-we-be-there issue. You may not agree with what he has to say but that's what he offers.

  • History repeats itself.

  • @johnoconnor51 I understand completely. If you speak up for social justice or show what injustice looks like, be prepared for hostile reactions. I lost my job in higher education for related reasons.
