Cornell passed away on Mother's Day, May 8th 2011. This was probably one of his last recorded appearances. His last CD will be released sometime in the fall. He was one of the greats, who played on a staggering 2500 recording sessions , and of course his work with the late Eric Gale and Richard Tee and Stuff is legendary. He will be missed.
Cornell is a Jazz guitar icon. His session work with all the big names of the 60's, 70's and 80's, and his own band Stuff is legendary. Cornell is sick and is in need of a lung transplant, and a benefit concert at BB King's New York, will be held on 3/20/11 7pm, with proceeds tol help offset medical costs. Aside from Cornell performing, he will be joined by JOE COCKER, and DR JOHN, for an unbelievable night of music. See BB Kings web-site for further info!
