@kriswizzle123 : Epiphone makes less expensive versions of Gibson guitars. For my money those are knockoffs regardless of who makes them, a la the Squier line of "casters made by Fender. I've played them side by side and there is no comparison, despite the similar appearances. Hench: Knockoff.

@luv853okg no, epiphone does not make knockoff les pauls. Epiphone is owned by Gibson, so it makes a less fancy, more affordable guitar. That's not necessarily a knock off unless Epiphone had tried to copy the Gibson Les Paul.

He didnt name himself after the guitar. This guitarmodel was named after him in 1952, when he helped the Gibson Company make a solidbody.

Les was The Man. Any serious ax swinger welcomed him wherever he went. There's a story he and Jimi Hendrix jammed for two days in a hotel room, the Old Man From Wisconsin and the Voodoo Child, side by side. There were some damn lucky flies on those walls.
