Foxie is a chimpanzee rescued by Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest. She was used in biomedical research prior to her rescue. She enjoys looking at herself in mirrors.

  • Seeing a chimp with a mirror for the first time is always just awesome. Show's how smart they are and how quick they learn

  • This is a special moment. Chimpanzees and humans and few other animals are capable of understanding mirrors as providing reflections of self, not as other individuals of their kind. This is self-awareness and reflections.

    Always a fascinating thing to see.
