Solo musician Alex Band recording an acoustic version of his new single "Tonight" at Sweetwater Productions on February 19, 2010. The song is from Alex's solo album that comes out this spring. The recording is for the next "Majic Miracle Music CD," a charity project collaboration between Fort Wayne radio station WAJI Majic 95.1 and Sweetwater Sound to benefit Riley Children's Hospital. Look for the fully-produced version on the CD later this year. You can check out the previous Majic Miracle Music CDs here: http://bit.ly/bWK7pR.

Thanks for coming out, Alex!

  • Love this song he sings like nobody else,Alex good work with this album.

  • Who are the 5 deaf people? Wait, even deaf people would know this was good :p

  • @Zakksback17 I think Alex has a great voice. Always has. This just wasn't a good performance. But my comment was about how these sound guys seem to go bonkers on acoustic set-ups. I recently recorded a major artist doing a vocal/acoustic guitar thing and the new kid in the studio went crazy with mics because he thought that was what he was supposed to do. (since he didn't have a lot of gear to mic, might as well put a lot of mics on almost no gear.)

  • @theguitarzan That's an exaggeration man there's like 4 mics max. Now he's voice sound really bad there for some reason, lots of falsettos and he just wasn't hitting the high notes properly... Oh well I guess it was just a bad day, he is a good singer though.

  • I always think it's funny how crazy the sound guy can get with mics for an acoustic performance. If this was with a full band in a live performance the singer would have 1 mic and the guitar would be plugged into either an amp or a direct box. In this case, I count about 42 mics just for the lead vocalist. And it sounds like crap! What did all that extra hardware get ya? Something to trip over?

  • meraviglioso

  • Thanks for posting! I ADORE him.

  • thank you alex :)
