This movement may be from Austria. It is a one-day movement with crown wheel (verge) escapement. The pendulum is at the back, with a false pendulum in front that would be visible through the dial. I do not have the case to this clock.

  • Glad you found the video useful, I've had this movement for years, but I don't have a case for it. This escapement has too much drop onto the rear pallet (on the right side in the video) otherwise the action is great. Good luck with your clockmaking! I am interested in seeing what you make.

  • Brilliant! I have the same escapement in one of my early 1800's clock made in La Cheau de fonds.

  • i am going to look at all the escapements :)

  • Great video, thanks for posting this as I intend to start making 30 hour verge clocks as I love them and I very much wanted to have access to a video of a good working verge escapement. I just finished making my brass depthing tool as I thought if I could not make one I had better give up the idea of making clocks in retrement.
