Best version of Civilization. The only problem now is that you can't play it on Windows 7, which sucks.

@jamesgravil I know a Star Trek scenario of Civ2, where everytime if you buy a city improvement, the voice of Picard sounds: "Make It so!" ;-)
-
This must be the US version, the UK Civ 2 was different.

Uh, an intro that shows nothing about the actual game? Way to cleverly advertise it :P

This was the first game I ever played. I like Civ3 much, much better, but despite having both installed I still go back to Civ2 once in a while. Just the pure, unmatched nostalgia I get while playing it.

Nostalgia attack! Happy that Im not the only one who played civilization from the very beginning! :D
BEST GAME EVER! i still play it, 15 years later.

Civ 4 definitely had the best intro. I wonder how much they paid to get Leonard Nimoy's voice (since he's probably got the most recognizable voice in the world?)
I think an oblique reference to his Spock character would have been in order there. Something along the lines of "Live long, and prosper," when you found your very first city. Certainly cheeky, but I can imagine it working.
