  • Heimskringla

  • Bendik ri åt Sølondo

    ville han skòda møy;

    han var kje lagje til att'e koma

    difor så laut han døy.

    -Årolilja, kvi søve du så lengje

    Om dagjen ri Bendik i skogjen ut

    og veider den ville hjort,

    med åst og elskogs-ord.

  • @gothips In came the King’s youngest son. He brought forth news. “Bendik dares to offend the King.” It was the King of Sølondo. He threw his fist through the table. “Bendik shall not enjoy life longer If I don’t win any land.” Olaf’s church in Trondheim, It is covered with . Bendik shall not enjoy life longer If he wins three times.”
  • @gothips Bendik rode out to Sølondo. He wanted to look for a maiden. He did not want…something Something….As he shouted out loud – “Årolilja, why do you sleep so long?” The next day Bendik rode out to the forest And hunted the wild deer. During the night he visited the maiden With loving words. “I love your golden hair, Like apples falling on a branch. Happy is the man who receives you. God takes the man who loses”.
  • can anyone translate tle lyrics?

  • Where did you get these drawings,they are really good.

  • Bergset sin stemme er verkeleg fantastisk.

  • I'm sure this is a rather hefty request, but could someone post the English translation? I love this song's tragic kind of beauty, but I do not know enough of the language to know more than the occasional word here and there. I'd appreciate it so much.
